Today, we vow to protect the memory of their sacrifice and their selfless courage. We pledge to serve their memory by guarding the freedoms they so bravely fought for us to keep.
To their loved ones, may this beautiful quote from President Lincoln provide you a modicum of comfort today,
“I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the alter of freedom.”
