At the club’s Installation Meeting held December 15, 2020, Joann Mathis was honored as Woman of the Year for 2020. The presentation was made in the Casino Fandango Ballroom by Nancy Dallas, who was last year’s award recipient.

Joann stepped forward to serve as 2nd Vice President and Membership Chair during the CCRW’s 2019 board election. Despite the extraordinary circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic, she has done an exemplary job during her first year in the position. Upon taking office, she stated, “It’s my goal to make each new member feel welcome the minute they walk through the door to their first meeting.” She has had no trouble living up to her word with a warm, welcoming personality, perpetual smile, and boundless energy. Her dedication to the job and efforts have led to an increase in CCRW membership–winning us the highest club numbers in the state of Nevada. CCRW is proud and fortunate to name Joann as our “Woman of the Year, 2020.” We are also grateful she will be continuing into a second term as V.P./Membership Chair, a job she seems to have been born to do.

Congratulations, Joann!
